PHOTOS: 11th Memorial March for Missing & Murdered Indigenous Women



Montréal, Octoctober 4th 2016

Over 1,000 people marched through the streets of Montreal to honour the memories of missing and murdered Indigenous women and girls, raise awareness about the systemic nature of the violence and the ways in which media, governments, the legal system, police forces, and the education system all facilitate this violence.

Annual Demonstration Seeks Justice for Native Women

Under the watchful eye of Grandmother Moon, close to 700 people marched through downtown Montreal, demanding justice for the hundreds of missing and murdered Aboriginal women,
 whose cases are often left uninvestigated. 








It is the first year I see mainstream media covering the event! Yey!

It's V-day, everyone! That means... time for the annual 
Justice for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women March!


Organized in cities across Canada since 1991, this years's march coincided with the publication of the Human Rights Watch report accusing RCMP officers in Northern B.C. of abusing aboriginal girls.
